Alexandria's Spring2Action Donations Surpass Goal In 2021
Over $2.5 million and counting has been raised for local organizations, and winners have been announced for additional prizes.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — Donations for Spring2Action, Alexandria's day of giving, surpassed the 2020 total and the goal for this year.
Spring2Action is an annual event encouraging residents to support their favorite local organizations. ACT for Alexandria aimed to raise $2.5 million through Spring2Action, which started with early giving on Arpil 14 and ended with a 24-hour day of giving on April 28. Donations are still coming in, but the total topped $2.5 million on Thursday morning.
At the time of publication, over 8,200 donors have supported 156 local organizations.

Leading the organizations in donations raised was RunningBrooke, which aims to keep kids physically active at school and home. Donors had raised over $165,000 for RunningBrooke as of Thursday morning. Other organizations in the top five for donations were Casa Chirilagua, Friends of Guest House, ALIVE, and Carpenter's Shelter.
Winners have been announced for various prizes, such as the organizations with the most donors, most dollars, most early giving donors, most early giving dollars, most power hour donors on April 28, and more.
