Art On The Avenue: Details, Location For 2019 Event

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Del Ray's huge Art on the Avenue festival returns Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. along Mount Vernon Avenue between Bellefonte and Hume Avenues.

Drawing an estimated 50,000 people each year, the event combines the arts, food music and other activities. Around 300 artists representing a variety of art forms participate. These include jewelers, woodworkers, pottery makers, soap crafters, glass makers, painters, sculptures, fabric artists and more. Food vendors represent a variety of cuisines with favorites like hot dogs, BBQ, Indian, crab cakes, chocolate bananas on a stick and fresh cider donuts.

Other entertainment includes live music, a pie baking contest, activities like stuff a scarecrow, paint a pumpkin. Art on the Avenue will have several music stages with performances throughout the day. Here's the lineup:
