Couple's Love Story Begins At Del Ray Pizzeria
He is Muslim and she is Jewish. Their love grew despite religious differences, and it all began at Del Ray Pizzeria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Sarah Goodman and Umair Khan's wedding is not only the story of love conquering all. It's the story of Alexandria.
She was a Jewish special education teacher and he was a Muslim banker when they met working part-time jobs at Del Ray Pizzeria, Washingtonian reported. They thought the religious differences would be a problem, but Goodman told the magazine, "We had an intense connection we could not deny, and realized we wanted to be together."
Alexandria has become cemented in their journey together, from their time working at Del Ray Pizzeria, to their first date at Virtue Feed and Grain, up to their wedding at Restaurant Eve. Two years after their first date, Khan proposed during a family trip for Passover.

Restaurant Eve put together a magnificent multicultural wedding, including a menu by Chef Cathal Armstrong paying tribute to Khan's Pakistani heritage. 60 of their closest family and friends attended, and the couple got some memorable photos on the streets of Old Town Alexandria.
