Del Ray Candy Cane Bar Crawl 2020 Planned With To-Go Format

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Del Ray Candy Cane Bar Crawl will happen for a fifth year, albeit in a different format.

Due to the pandemic, this event was changed to a to-go format featuring specials from participating Del Ray businesses on Saturday, Dec. 19. Residents are invited to pick up holiday drink and food specials from participating restaurants and enjoy with friends over Zoom or other virtual means. All mixed drinks and liquor items must be purchased with a food item in accordance with state requirements.

There is a $5 registration for the event, with funds supporting purchases from local businesses. The registration gets holiday swag bags for the first 100 on the day of the event (first come, first served) and a raffle ticket for a grand prize for gift certificates to restaurants and Del Ray swag.

In addition, there will be a best holiday outfit contest. Dress yourself and your animals in your holiday best and post to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtags #visitdelray #candycanecrawl. Best holiday outfits will be awarded small giveaways on the day of the event and announced on Visit Del Ray's Facebook Live.

Specials from participating restaurants will continue to be listed on the Eventbrite registration page. So far, restaurants include Cheesetique, Del Ray Cafe, Del Ray Pizzeria, Hops N Shine. Kaizen Tavern, Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap, Market2Market, Northside 10, Piece Out Del Ray, Pork Barrel BBQ, Spice Kraft, St. Elmo's Coffee Pub, Stomping Ground, and Taqueria Poblano.
