Del Ray's First Thursday Postponed To July 18

The monthly street festival was rescheduled due to anticipated inclement weather.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Del Ray's First Thursday street festivals typically happen on the first Thursday of the month as the name suggests. But because July 4 fell on a Thursday, this month's festivities was pushed back. Due to inclement weather expected on July 11, the event has been moved to Thursday, July 18.

The street festival happens from 6 p.m. to dusk at Pat Miller Neighborhood Square (intersection of Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues). Each month features a different theme. This month's theme, Red, White & Blue, will keep the patriotic celebrations going after Alexandria's Birthday Celebration.

The events collect donations for a different nonprofit every month. July's nonprofit is Friends of Rocky Versace, which is fundraising for renovations to the Alexandria Vietnam Veterans Memorial in front of the Mount Vernon Recreation Center. You can contribute on the Friends of Rocky Versace fundraising page.
