Emergency Work Prompts Mount Vernon Avenue Closure
Alexandria's transportation and environmental services department announced a portion of Mount Vernon Avenue will be closed.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — Mount Vernon Avenue is temporarily closed for emergency work Wednesday evening through early Thursday in Del Ray.
Mount Vernon Avenue will be closed from Glendale Avenue and Braddock Road in both directions from 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30 to 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31. Alexandria's Transportation & Environmental Services Department says emergency sewer work is being conducted.
Residents are asked to avoid the area. Officials ask those living in the vicinity to be "conscious of water usage."
