Free Summer Kick-Off Concert To Be Held In Del Ray
Alexandria Citizens Band, one of the country's oldest community bands, will perform at the free show.
ALEXANDRIA, VA—Summer officially begins on June 20, but there's no reason we can't get the festivities started a little early in Alexandria. The Alexandria Citizens Band will hold its Summer Kick-Off Concert Saturday, June 15 from 4 p.m.-5 p.m. at Del Ray United Methodist Church, 100 East Windsor Avenue, Alexandria.
The performance will have something for the whole family. Kids will enjoy music from "How to Train Your Dragon" and adults can appreciate classical composers like Johann Sebastian Bach. And the band will get you excited for the Fourth of July holiday with a performance of "You’re A Grand Old Flag."
The Alexandria Citizens Band is one of the oldest community bands in the country and has performed for 107 seasons. The band is made up of volunteer musicians under the direction of Mike Evans.
