Gas Line Leak Impacts Del Ray Intersection

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A major gas line leak is impacting an intersection in Del Ray Wednesday, according to city officials.

The gas leak was reported near the intersection of Commonwealth and East Monroe Avenues. Washington Gas responded to fix the leak.

Alexandria firefighters are on scene to protect workers and others from exposure to the leak. The city's transportation and environmental services department said East Monroe Avenue was temporarily closed between Commonwealth Avenue and Wayne Street.
