Hour-By-Hour Halloween Forecast For Northern Virginia, DC

WASHINGTON, DC — A storm system expected to move into the area on Halloween could come with thunderstorms and strong winds of up to 25 mph, the National Weather Service said in its forecast on Thursday. The agency issued a hazardous weather outlook because severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are possible with a strong cold front this evening. An isolated tornado is also possible.
"Heavy rainfall may lead to scattered instances of flooding this evening," the Weather Service added.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the Weather Service says an inch of rain will fall by sunrise Thursday. Halloween will be mostly cloudy and breezy with rain showers that will taper off in the afternoon. Showers are most likely after 3 p.m. Thursday, with thunderstorms possible Thursday afternoon and evening, bringing chances for damaging winds and heavy rainfall.

Areas in the hazardous weather outlook include: the District of Columbia, Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Stafford and Spotsylvania.

Low around 44. Breezy, with a south wind 14 to 22 mph becoming west in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 56. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.
