La Bella Strada Street Painting Festival Returns To Del Ray

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Del Ray will into a virtual studio for street artists during the annual La Bella Strada festival. This year's event is set for Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

During the festival, street artists create chalk murals along Mount Vernon Avenue. Inspired by the street painting tradition from Renaissance-era Italy, the event draws professional artists from the DC region. Anyone else can join in by purchasing their own square to draw on.

Proceeds benefit the Del Ray Montessori School and the Del Ray community. Last year, the festival funded a community garden outside Del Ray Methodist Church.

The festival will also include the following activities:

• Demonstration by Yang's Taekwondo 10 a.m.-10:45 a.m.
• Jazzy Juggler 11 a.m.-11:45 a.m.
• Alexandria Kinderchoir 12 p.m.-12:30 p.m.
