Leaf Collection in Alexandria is Underway

As leaves start changing colors and falling, it’s time to start thinking about leaf collection. Alexandra's leaf collection program starts Monday, Oct. 28 and runs through Friday, Dec. 27.  

The city reminds residents here are three ways to recycle your leaves each season: rake leaves to the curb for vacuum collection, place leaves in paper leaf bags for curbside collection, or compost leaves and yard waste on-site.

Free city leaf bags are available at the following locations: 

City Hall, 301 King St.

Monday - Friday, 7 am - 8 pm  

Field Office, City of Alexandria, 2900 A Business Center Dr.
Monday - Saturday, 8 am - 5 pm  

Charles Barrett Recreation Center, 1115 Martha Custis Dr.
Monday - Friday, 2 pm - 6 pm  

William Ramsay Recreation Center, 5650 Sanger Ave.
Monday - Friday, 9 am - 9 pm 
Saturday, 9 am - 11 pm
Sunday, 1 pm- 5 pm  

Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave.
Monday - Friday, 9 am - 9 pm
