Photos: 10th Taste Of Del Ray Winners Chosen
Despite the rain moving the event inside, there was a huge turnout of people to sample Del Ray restaurants.
ALEXANDRIA, VA—Restaurants brought their best creations and patrons brought their appetites for the 10th annual Taste of Del Ray Sunday, June 3.
Like in past years, this year's event sold out. There was a large turnout, despite the rain moving the event to the Mount Vernon Rec Center. The event was sponsored by the Del Ray Business Association.
18 restaurants participated, each bringing one type of food or drink to hand out. Restaurants competed for the Judges' Choice awards and the People's Choice, the latter or which each attendee could vote for.

1. Junction Bakery and Bistro: Cubano sandwich
2. Pork Barrel BBQ: Bread pudding with vanilla bourbon sauce
3. Northside 10: Shrimp and smoked Gouda grits with chorizo sausage
Judges' Choice
1. Del Ray Cafe: Chouquettes with Raspberry and Chocolate dipping sauces; plus cold corn soup and chilled gazpacho
2. Kaizen Tavern: Salmon poke
3. Junction Bakery and Bistro: Cubano sandwich
Honorable mention: Swing's Coffee: Bourbon-barrel aged nitro cold brew
