Port City on Tap at Pentagon City Shake Shack
"Burgers 'n Brews" event this week paired Port City brews with menu items from new Shake Shack at Pentagon City.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Shake Shack hosted a "Burgers & Brews" event Wednesday night, at its new location at Pentagon City, to show off some of its menu paired with Alexandria's own Port City brews. Offering beer made by award-winning Port City on its menu is part of an ongoing commitment by Shake Shack to partner with local craftsman, bakers, brewers and other purveyors to help support the community and create a fun environment for guests and Shack fans.
You can do the same next time you stop by. Hours at the Pentagon City Shake Shack (the second location in Virginia -- the other one is at Tysons) are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, and it's open until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. It's located at the shopping center, at 1100 S. Hayes St. (where there is also the Pentagon City Station metro stop). If you're going to the restaurant from inside the shopping center, take the exit near Brookstone and turn to your left.
The Pentagon City Shake Shack location has earned 3.5 stars from 93 reviews on Yelp.

Also on the menu was a vanilla frozen custard beer float (see below) made with Port City Brewing's Porter which features bittersweet flavors of coffee and dark chocolate.
Love hot dogs? You'll want to try Shake Shack's Shack-Cago Dog (pictured below), described as being "dragged through the garden with Rick's Picks Shack relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt, mustard," it was paired with Port City's Ways and Means Rye Session IPA. The beer features a spicy, peppery character, which comes from a generous addition of rye malt.
