Here are 5 Things for a busy Thursday, Aug. 22 in the Del Ray area:
Rare beer — Greg Engert, beer director for the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, has been cracking open some of his finest, most rare bottles and offering at special prices at Rustico (827 Slaters Ln.) all week for the eatery’s spin on restaurant week. Five different large-format bottles will be available at a special price along with dinner. Keep an eye out for Thursday’s special on Rustico’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
Eat a Peach Day — The peaches have been plenty lovely at recent Alexandria-area farmers markets. If you still have one left, be sure to celebrate with a nibble today. All out? Check out Arcadia’s mobile farmers market from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today outside Landmark Mall.

Thursday Jazz — It’s Thursday, which means the Not-So-Modern Jazz Band will be performing at St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub (2300 Mount Vernon Ave.). The band, which has performed continuously since 1983, gets the party swinging at 7:30 p.m.
Anything Goes at Del Ray Artisans — The gallery (2704 Mount Vernon Ave.) its currently displaying its 10th annual board showcase, titled “Anything Goes.” Check it out from noon to 6 p.m. today for free.

“Baby Baby” — Christian music star Amy Grant’s show tonight at the Birchmere is sold out, but that doesn’t mean we can’t stop for a minute and listen to her 1991 secular hit.
