Spring-Themed Loft At Lena's Concept Set To Open

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap will open its latest variation of the Loft at Lena's on Friday.

The Loft at Lena’s Full Bloom will be open for dine-in service starting on Friday, March 26 at 5 p.m. Reservations are recommended.

When the COVID-19 pandemic changed the way restaurants offered dining service, Lena's adapted with themed dining experiences while striving to meet health guidelines. Full Bloom is the second of the seasonal themes planned for the Loft, the second-story space above the main restaurant. The first concept, The Loft at Lena’s Winter Lodge, opened in December. Lena’s Oasis, another concept introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic, remains open. Lena's will also plan future themes for the Loft space beyond Full Bloom.

The spring-themed Full Bloom will feature floral and vibrant decor throughout the dining space. Among the design highlights are green grass climbing the walls, multi-colored ribbons, and an array of butterflies. The Lena's owners partnered with Katie Kirby from REVOLUTION, who also designed the Lena's Winter Lodge and Lena’s Oasis.

Spring-inspired food, cocktails and wine will be featured on the menu. Diners can expect new appetizers such as Burrata & Prosciutto, Fra Diavola Mussels & Shrimp Cocktail, and Strawberry & Baby Spinach Salad with house-made raspberry vinaigrette. Main dishes like Jumbo Lump Crabcakes and Whole Grilled Branzino with Puttanesca with spring vegetables will debut, and cocktails like a frozen Limonata Sgroppino, Spring Spritzers, Violette Martini and Cool Cucumbertini can be paired with meals. The wine menu includes higher-end whites, rosés, lighter red wines, and sparkling sauvignon blanc. Guests who visit on Thursday nights will be entertained by local musicians.

The space is also designed with COVID-19 safety in mind. The Loft features disinfection technology fans that kill 99.99 percent of airborne pathogens, including the virus that causes COVID-19 illness, and the fans run 24 hours a day. The Loft also has open-air windows to let fresh air in, and HVAC equipment is programmed to bring additional fresh air in from outside. Lena's participates in the ALX Promise program to meet and exceed COVID-19 safety guidelines.
