Spring2Action 2021 Early Giving Begins In Alexandria

Alexandria's day of giving is scheduled for April 28, but donors can make early contributions to local causes.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Spring2ACTion, Alexandria's annual day of giving, is scheduled for April 28, but donors can partake in early giving starting on April 14.

Spring2ACTion, spearheaded by ACT for Alexandria, is marking its 11th year of organizing fundraising for Alexandria organizations. In 2020, 156 nonprofits serving Alexandria received $2.45 million from 8,453 donors. The goal in 2021 is to raise $2.5 million.

Donors can choose an organization to support through the Spring2ACTion website. Early giving starts on April 14 and continues until April 28, the 24-hour day of giving. Donors may also choose to give through business fundraisers.

Similar to past years, extra grants will be provided to nonprofits who receive the most donors, most dollars, most early giving donors, most early giving dollars, most power hour donors on April 28, and more. See the full list of prizes here.

ACT for Alexandria is a community foundation founded in 2004. Another major initiative by ACT for Alexandria was the Alexandria Resilience Fund and other forms of COVID-19 relief. Through residents, local businesses, congregations and city support, ACT for Alexandria provided over $5.76 million in COVID-19 emergency support from March to December 2020.
