Vehicle Stolen With Child Inside In Alexandria; Child Found Safe
Police say the suspect abandoned the vehicle a block away after driving away with the child inside.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A child is safe after a vehicle was stolen with the child inside in the Arlandria area of Alexandria Monday.
Alexandria Police responded to the stolen vehicle incident around 8:20 p.m. in the 3900 block of Executive Avenue. A man and child were inside a parked running vehicle when the man left to briefly run into a building. The child was left in the backseat, and a male suspect drove away with the child still inside.
The suspect stopped the vehicle about a block away and fled on foot. The man chased the suspect for several blocks until the suspect displayed a gun.

There were no injuries reported in the incident. Police continue to actively investigate. No suspect description was provided.
Police urged residents to avoid leaving children in a vehicle unattended, lock vehicle doors and keep keys, key fobs and valuables with you or locked up.
