VeloCity, Alexandria Fire Department Teaming for Kids Bike Drive

VeloCity Bicycle Cooperative is teaming with the Alexandria Fire Department for a holiday bicycle drive for needy children.

Bicycles in any condition and size can be donated to VeloCity until Dec. 15.

VeloCity co-founder Christian Myers and other co-op members will spend several days refurbishing the donated bicycles before they’re delivered to needy Alexandria children by the fire department on Dec. 21, just in time for Christmas.

Bicycle and part donations can be made to VeloCity, which is located at 2111 Mount Vernon Ave. Donors will receive a tax-deductible receipt.
