Construction of the new ride began in the fall of 2015 in the Candy Apple Grove section of the park. The park describes the ride:
"Delirium is a powerful, spinning pendulum on which 40 riders are strapped into their seats, facing outward on a giant ring. As their feet dangle, they begin slowly swinging back and forth while the ring starts to rotate. The ride quickly gains momentum and before they know it, riders are getting swirling views of the park. On Delirium, guests soar to a height of 115 feet at a maximum arc angle of 120 degrees."

“We want Kings Dominion to continue to be the top destination for thrill-seekers and families alike. The opening of Delirium marks our continued commitment to providing those thrills for the entire family to enjoy,” says Pat Jones, vice president and general manager of Kings Dominion. “Delirium is a unique, exciting ride unlike any other in our park and it’s a fantastic addition to Candy Apple Grove.”
The park is now open weekends and opens daily Friday, May 27. See King's Dominion hours here. The theme park is located about 20 miles north of Richmond in Doswell; get directions here. Find ticket information here.
Wondering what your kids can eat at the park? Kings Dominion is offering a refreshed menu this year; items include fish tacos, park made coleslaw, new and improved grab and go desserts, signature salads throughout the park, more side options such as pasta salads, cucumber tomato salad, caprese salad (in select stands) and a signature burger available at Jukebox Diner along with various new seasonal funnel cake toppings.
