'Wonder Woman 2' Trailer Features Landmark Mall
The "Wonder Woman" sequel, which filmed parts in Alexandria, will be released in 2020.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria residents will spot a familiar place in the new trailer for "Wonder Woman 2: 1984." Alexandria's Landmark Mall appears in the movie, which is set to hit theaters June 5, 2020.
The film takes place in the 1980s, so the aging Landmark Mall provided an ideal filming location during summer 2018. In the trailer, Gal Gadot appears as Wonder Woman to battle villains at the mall.
The inside portion of the mall has served other uses since closing to the public in early 2017. Aside from serving as a filming location for "Wonder Woman 2," Landmark Mall is the temporary home of Carpenter's Shelter as its new building is completed. Howard Hughes Corp. plans to redevelop the mall into a mixed-use hub.

"Wonder Woman 2: 1984" is the sequel to the 2017 movie, based on the character from the DC Entertainment comic books created by William Moulton Marston. The trailer shows that Chris Pine will return as Steve Trevor, and Kristen Wiig will play the movie's villain, the Cheetah.
