Barb Cram, President Of Falls Church Arts, Dies

The Falls Church City Council had proclaimed Barb Cram Appreciation Day last week.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Barb Cram, 73, known for her work with Falls Church Art and other community initiatives, died on Tuesday.

Cram was the president of Falls Church Arts for 10 years and played a role in many community initiatives. Falls Church City Council had proclaimed Barb Cram Appreciation Day on May 28 to recognize her contributions.

According to the proclamation, Cram has been a Falls Church resident since 1978. In her nearly 20 years as part of Falls Church Arts, she helped develop the Arts Space gallery. She helped found the Little City CATCH Foundation and form the city's Arts and Humanities Council. She also organized Watch Night Falls Church on New Year's Eve for nearly 10 years.

Cram has worked to preserve the history of the city by advocating for the Civil War Trails and supporting the Village Preservation and Improvement Society. She won the society's "Spirit of Falls Church Award."

A strong supporter of the business community, she won a "Pillar of the Community" award from the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, served on the Public Private Partnership and the city's Tricentennial Committee, and supported the chamber.
