Census Takers Visit Falls Church Homes With Unfinished Census
Residents can ask to confirm the identity of the Census takers.
FALLS CHURCH, VA — Census takers are following up at Falls Church households that have not completed the 2020 U.S. Census. The visits have been happening since July 23, according to the city government.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the City of Falls Church has an 79.6 percent response rate, higher than Virginia's collective 67.5 percent.
City of Falls Church government encourages residents to confirm if the person visiting their home is a Census taker. These workers will have U.S. Census identification with a watermark from the Commerce Department and will wear personal protective equipment.

A Census worker will not ask for a Social Security number, banking information, money, or other financial information. Residents are not required to answer the Census taker and can respond to the Census in another way.

The 2020 Census will count the U.S. population, using the data for purposes like determining local allocations of federal funding and drawing congressional and state legislative districts. Residents can complete the 2020 Census by calling 844-330-2020, visiting 2020Census.gov, or returning the form that was mailed to all households in March.
Census workers could be working in the city into the fall, or until they've reached everyone who hasn't filled out the 2020 Census.
