Cinco de Mayo: Where to Celebrate in Falls Church

Celebrate the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France during the Franco-Mexican War in Falls Church.

Cinco de Mayo is Sunday and a couple Falls Church establishments will have drink and food specials for anyone looking for a place to go.

Falls Church City Police will also be out and about patrol the streets looking for anyone who may have had too much to drink.

Note that the Washington Regional Alcohol Program that runs SoberRide – a program offering a free taxi ride for people who have had too much to drink – will not be offering services this weekend. The service is only offered between Christmas and New Years Day, Saint Patrick’s Day, Fourth of July and Halloween.

Here are a couple local restaurants offering Cinco de Mayo specials:

Dogwood Tavern, 132 W. Broad St., Falls Church – There will be Mexican beer specials on Cinco de Mayo along with sangria and a dinner special featuring a marinated steak served with beans and rice and Pico de Gallo.

Pizzeria Orso, 400 S. Maple Ave., Falls Church – Pizzeria Orso won’t have any beer specials but will offer specials on crabs and their new biscuits.
