Easter Activities Provide Alternative To Egg Hunt In Falls Church

The regular Easter egg hunt is canceled in 2021, but families can enjoy Easter Bunny visits in the neighborhood and more.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The traditional Easter egg hunt won't be happening in Falls Church due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but several safe activities are planned by the Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department as alternatives for families.

Instead of the egg hunt in Cherry Hill Park, children can participate in the Easter Egg Window Hunt. Search for colorful eggs displayed in park kiosks, local businesses, and on windows of neighbors' homes. Children are invited to print out an Easter egg template and display their own colored eggs.

Families can take the Easter egg hunts to their backyards with an Easter Eggstravangaza Kit from the parks and recreation department. The kits, intended for ages 3 to 9, include 10 candy or trinket-filled eggs, materials for several spring crafts, and more. Kits cost $20 for ages 3 and 4 and $35 for ages 5 to 9. Kits can be picked up at the Falls Church Community Center starting on Monday, March 29. Order online or call the Community Center at 703-248-5027 (TTY 711) and reference Activity Code 211500.
