FALLS CHURCH, VA — The City of Falls Church is moving forward with replacement of the South Oak Street bridge over Tripps Run. Public feedback is sought for the conceptual design of the replacement bridge.

The proposed project would replace the existing Oak Street bridge with a new steel span bridge to meet load and safety requirements as well as improve pedestrian accessibility. The new bridge would also enhance trail access to Howard E. Herman Stream Valley Park.

The planning, design and construction of the bridge is expected to cost $2,600,000. Some funding will come from the Regional Surface Transportation Program. The city is seeking other grant funding to make up for the difference.
