Falls Church Man Guilty Of 'Annoying Phone Calls': Report
Fairfax County police say he set up a phony voice mail to scare off a solicitor.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — A Falls Church man accused of impersonating a Fairfax County police officer was found guilty this week of making "annoying phone calls," according to a media report. Steve Maldonado, 38, was arrested in March for allegedly using the name of a retired officer to scare off a solicitor, say authorities.
Maldonado, an AT&T employee, set up a prepaid phone number and account with a voicemail saying he was a retired female police officer, the police said. He also used it to send text messages to a company he was tired of being solicited by.
Fairfax County court records showed that Maldonado was found guilty Wednesday of making annoying phone calls, WJLA-TV Channel 7 reported.
