Falls Church Starts Hybrid Learning For Students In All Grades
Students in all grades in Falls Church City Public Schools were given the option to return to hybrid learning Tuesday.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Students in all grades in Falls Church City Public Schools were given the option to return to hybrid learning Tuesday, including students at the new George Mason High School.
Students returning to in-person learning will be in the classroom “with a teaching force of staff who are fully vaccinated,” the school system said. Classrooms are limited to 50-percent capacity.
At Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School and George Mason High School, students whose last name begins with the letters A through K are in Track B and will attend school in person on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Students whose last name begins with the letters L through Z will be in Track C and will attend school in person on Thursday and Friday.
Track A students will receive 100-percent virtual instruction and Track D students will attend in-person classes four days a week. Mondays are an independent work day for students.

Falls Church City Public Schools will use a half-day model for in-person learning at Mount Daniel and Thomas Jefferson Elementary Schools. Instruction will occur Tuesday through Friday for three hours a day.

Students with last names beginning with the letters A through K will attend school during the morning session from 8:50 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Students with last names beginning with the letters L through Z will attend school during the afternoon session from 12:50 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.
Students are getting screened before getting on a school bus or coming into a school using the school system’s daily student self-monitoring health screening sheet. Students also are required to wear a face-covering properly at all times and must socially distance while in school.
Falls Church City Public Schools held a virtual ribbon-cutting on Sunday to open the new George Mason High School. The city's residents voted to pass a bond in 2017 to pay for the new high school campus.
The Falls Church City Public Schools system has more than 2,600 students and more than 600 staff.
