FALLS CHURCH, VA — Celebrity Delly, a family-run deli in the Falls Church area, is celebrating 45 years in business and has given its space a fresh look.

The business was founded in 1975 by the late Chuck Rossler, who sought to bring a Jewish New York-style deli with quality ingredients to the DC region. Originally opened in Rockville, Maryland, Celebrity Delly is located in Graham Park Plaza on Arlington Boulevard, formerly known as Loehmann's Plaza.

Favorites like the Reuben sandwich and matzoh ball soup and more have helped the restaurant thrive. Some items are named after local and national celebrities, including two frequent patrons: local radio personality Eliot Segal and the voice of the Washington Capitals Wes Johnson. The deli has also inspired Brooklyn’s Deli in Potomac, Maryland from Rossler’s cousin Guy Brandt and the Corned Beef King food truck owned by Chuck Rossler's son Jon Rossler in Rockville.

Today Celebrity Delly is owned by Rossler's wife, Sharon, and her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and William Thompson.

"The deli culture runs really deep, and the number of delis in the U.S. continues to decline," said William Thompson, general manager for Celebrity Delly. "The cost of doing business is high when the menu focuses on high-quality authentic meat like corned beef. We’re not willing to compromise on anything and we’re so thankful for our loyal customers who have been able to keep us in business for 45 years, especially in more challenging years for restaurants like this one."
