Family Of Slain Falls Church Man Holds Fundraising Campaign

The family of a Falls Church man killed early Saturday morning is holding a fundraising campaign to help them through these tough times.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The family of a Falls Church man killed early Saturday morning is holding a fundraising campaign to help them through these tough times.

Hernan Leiva, 58, who worked at the Target at Bailey’s Crossroads, was attacked by a coworker when he arrived at work early Saturday morning, Fairfax County police said. Rescue personnel pronounced Leiva dead at the scene.

The suspect, Bazen Berhe, 22, surrendered to police a short time later, police said. Berhe was charged with second degree murder.

“April 17, 2021 we lost a beloved Father, Brother, and Uncle,” the GoFundMe site reads. “We are confident he was greeted by our brother Jason and his Mother Luisa at the Pearly Gates.”

The family said any help from the public will be “greatly appreciated.”
