Hawaiian-Style Poke Eatery Coming To Falls Church

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Hawaiian-style poke will soon arrive in Falls Church with the opening of fast-casual restaurant Island Fin Poke. The restaurant is expected to open this fall at 7501 Leesburg Pike Suite 129, Falls Church.

The eatery specializes in poke bowls, a Hawaiian dish made with raw seafood or other toppings. It uses locally and responsibly-sourced ingredients, including eight proteins, over 25 toppings, house-made sauces and specialty mix-ins. Co-founder Mark Setterington hopes the restaurant's beach shack facade will bring a bit of the tropics to the DC suburb.

"One of the most important things for us as a brand is to uphold traditional Hawaiian standards in our cuisine," said Setterington. "Not only is our menu authentic, but we make sure every restaurant reflects the value of Ohana. For us, ohana is a way of life, and we want every guest that walks through our doors to know they are a part of the family."

Island Fin Poke, a concept originating from Florida, opened its first DC area location in Bowie, Maryland in January. The expansion to Falls Church came after the brand found success in the first six months in Bowie.

"We are excited to expand to Falls Church because of the amazing food scene,” said Setterington. "We believe that the local residents will appreciate our family-oriented culture and personal attention given to every guest. Our Bowie location has been very successful and our expansion to Falls Church is just the beginning for the D.C. metro area."

The Falls Church location will be Island Fin Poke’s first in Virginia, and there are plans to expand in the region. Its website lists a future Vienna location.
