Leaf Collections To Begin In Falls Church: Things To Know
Leaf collection begins the week of Oct. 21. See the full schedule for the City of Falls Church.
FALLS CHURCH, VA — As vibrant fall foliage becomes more visible, so do leaves on the ground. The City of Falls Church will begin leaf collections during the week of Oct. 21 and through early January. Crews will make multiple passes in all areas of the city.
Residents are asked to rake leaves to the curb ahead of their scheduled collection times. Leaf piles should be clear of gutters, sidewalks and fire hydrants. Debris such as stones, litter or branches must be left out of piles, as they could damage collection equipment or block storm drains. Other collection piles should be at least five feet away from leaf piles.
The leaves will be turned into leaf mulch, which will be available at the Falls Church Recycling Center in March 2020.
