Police ID Body Found In Seven Corners

The individual is a 49-year-old resident of the Falls Church area, say the Fairfax County police.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Fairfax County police have identified the man whose body was found in the Seven Corners area on Tuesday, March 12, as that of 49-year-old Gilberto Mendez, a resident of the Falls Church area. Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, the police said.

His remains were found in the 6100 block of Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) off Patrick Henry Drive in the Seven Corners area. Autopsy results are pending, the police said. .

"Mendez had multiple injuries that could be consistent with a fall,"the police said in a statement, but they're waiting on an official ruling for cause and manner of death from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
