Remembrance Ceremony for COVID-19 Victims on June 9

The Northern Virginia Regional Commission’s COVID-19 Remembrance Ceremony is on Wednesday, June 9, at 6 p.m. on the Fairfax County Government Center ellipse. The ceremony will honor and remember all of the lives lost in the 13 jurisdictions that make up the regional commission. The event will be broadcast live on Fairfax County Government Channel 16 as well as on the Facebook page of NVRC.

“We Northern Virginians have worked collaboratively together to stem the tide of the coronavirus pandemic, but our losses are considerable,” notes David Tarter, chairman of NVRC and Mayor of the City of Falls Church. “We come together to mourn and remember more than 2,350 of our friends, relatives and neighbors lost to this terrible disease.”
