Road Closures Continue, 1 Falls Church School Closes

FALLS CHURCH, VA—A few road closures remain after Thursday's severe thunderstorm in Falls Church.

The City of Falls Church reported the following closures at 8:19 a.m.

• South Spring Street between Jackson Street 516 S Spring Street
• N. West Street at Grove Avenue
• N West Street at Park Avenue
• Lincoln Avenue at North West Street
• Park Avenue between N West Street and North Spring Street
• North Virginia Avenue between Great Falls Street and Park Ave
• Reilly Street between the turn around to North Virginia Avenue

If you see a downed tree or power line in a road, call the police non-emergency number at 703-248-5053. Do not touch or approach downed power lines.

Power outages continue in some locations. Mount Daniel Elementary and its day care are closed due to a power outage. Dominion Power tells the school district power will be restored late Friday.

Several businesses were without power after the storm on Thursday evening. The library closed early due to a power outage but is open for regular hours Friday.
