Silver Diner, CJ's Steak & Ale, Osaka: NoVA Restaurant Scores
Some Northern Virginia restaurants recently earned high scores for cleanliness and others were cited for critical food violations.

Sometimes a bad restaurant is easy enough to spot and avoid: Nasty smells, dirty tables or unkempt employees can all be red flags of kitchen problems. But sometimes the problem is more difficult to see, such as food stored at improper temperatures or unclean kitchen equipment. Then there are commercial kitchens that are immaculately clean, surpass all safety standards and dish up delicious food.
