Sol Roots band with guest Tommy Lepson perform in Northern VA

On Tuesday May 28 the Sol Roots band with special guest Tommy Lepson (who worked with Danny Gatton, Root Boy Slim, Kim Wilson, Duke Robillard, and more) perform a night of upbeat rock, deep blues, greasy soul, and raw funk at the Legendary JV's located in Northern VA.

Tommy Lepson started performing professionally at age 14 and has appeared with many national acts, from the Kinks to Captain Beafheart, to the Fabulous Thunderbirds to NRBQ, The Righteous Brothers, The Spinners and Chuck Berry. Tommy has toured and recorded with the infamous Root Boy Slim, the Assassins (with Jimmy Thackery), and DC’s own: the Soul Crackers. Tommy has also recorded with Nils Lofgren, the Night Hawks, Danny Gatton, Tom Principato, Jerry Portnoy (Eric Claptons Blues All-stars), Bonnie Bramblet, Duke Robillard and Kim Wilson (T-Birds). During the Clinton administration, Tommy and his band performed three times at the White House. In addition, Tommy has won over eleven WAMMIE awards from the Washington Area Music Association.

The Sol Roots band performs a mix of New Orleans funk, raw blues, energetic rock, deep grooves, and southern soul. Sol is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who has toured with many roots, funk, and blues legends around the world as a part of Music Maker Revue.

The group features master bassist Andreas Holmstrom and super solid drummer Vic Chase.

Sol Roots is an official Home Grown Music Network artist and a "Next Generation" Music Maker Relief Foundation artist.
