Things To Know For Super Tuesday Voting In Falls Church
The City of Falls Church has guidance for voters casting a ballot in the Democratic Party presidential primary election.
FALLS CHURCH, VA — The City of Falls Church has provided reminders for voters ahead of the Democratic presidential primary election on Tuesday, March 3.
Virginia will be one of 14 states and one U.S. territory holding the primary election on March 3, also known as Super Tuesday. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and anyone in line by 7 p.m. will be able to vote.
Fourteen Democratic candidates qualified for the primary and are listed on a sample ballot. This includes candidates who may have dropped out of the presidential race. Because election officials are not permitted to provide information about candidates, the city recommends voters research candidates before arriving at the polls.

Virginia voters are not registered by party, so any registered voter can vote in the Democratic presidential primary. The Republican Party of Virginia will not hold a presidential primary and will instead choose delegates for the national convention.
Before you head to the polls, you should also confirm check your voter registration status and polling place on the Virginia Department of Elections website. The polling places in the City of Falls Church are Thomas Jefferson School (601 South Oak Street) in Ward 1; Falls Green Apartments (formerly Oakwood Apartments, 501 Roosevelt Boulevard) in Ward 2; and Falls Church Community Center (223 Little Falls Street) in Ward 3.

In-person absentee voting is open through 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 if you have a valid reason provided by the Virginia Department of Elections. Absentee voting is available at the Office of Voter Registration & Elections in City Hall (300 Park Avenue, center level) Friday, Feb. 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The deadline to request an absentee ballot be mailed to you was Tuesday, Feb. 25.
An acceptable form of photo ID is required for in-person absentee voting and in-person Election Day voting. Examples of accepted ID include Virginia driver’s license, United States passport, military photo ID, employee photo ID or student photo ID from a school in Virginia. You can contact the Falls Church Voter Registration and Office of Elections for a free voter ID.
