What's Open, Closed For Presidents Day 2021 In Falls Church
Presidents Day brings numerous schedule changes in Falls Church.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Presidents' Day, also known as the observed Washington's Birthday, will result in some service changes around Falls Church.
In 2021, Presidents Day falls on Monday, Feb. 15. City of Falls Church and Fairfax County government offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
In nearby Alexandria, events are planned throughout February to celebrate George Washington, who lived south of the city at his Mount Vernon estate and kept another home in Old Town. Although the George Washington Birthday Parade is canceled this year, there are other events being held virtually or with social distancing.

George Washington's Mount Vernon is offering free admission by reservation on Presidents Day (Monday, Feb. 15) and George Washington's birthday (Monday, Feb. 22). Tickets will be available to reserve starting at 12 a.m. on Feb. 12.

City of Falls Church government offices: Closed on Feb. 15.
Fairfax County government offices: Closed on Feb. 15.
Courts: Arlington County Courthouse is closed on Feb. 15. Fairfax County Circuit Court, General District Court, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed on Feb. 15.
Schools: Falls Church City Public Schools and Fairfax County Public Schools is closed on Feb. 15.
Animal shelter: Due to the pandemic, the Fairfax County Animal Shelter's services are available by appointment only.
Community centers: The Falls Church Community Center is closed on Feb. 15, but evening basketball clinics will go on as scheduled. All Neighborhood and Community Services centers require advance registrations.
Department of Motor Vehicles: The state DMV offices are open by appointment only due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Walk-in services are not available.
Fairfax Connector: Holiday weekday service will be offered on Feb. 15. All routes operate regular weekday service except: Routes 231, 232, 335, 351, 393, 394, 395, 396 422, 432, 461, 494, 495, 556, 585, 599, 624, 634, 697, 698, 699, 722, 724 and 985, which will not operate. Route 980 will run every 12 to 15 minutes instead of every 6 to 8 minutes. For more information, visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector.
Libraries: Mary Riley Styles Public Library and all Fairfax County Public Library branches will be closed on Feb. 15.
Metro: Metrorail and Metrobus run on Saturday schedules on Feb. 15. Starting on Feb. 13, the Addison Road and Arlington Cemetery stations will be closed through May 23 for platform reconstruction and station improvements. Shuttle buses will run between Rosslyn, Arlington Cemetery and Pentagon and there will be no Blue Line service. Additional Yellow Line trains will operate from Franconia-Springfield to Mt Vernon Square.
Post offices: Closed on Feb. 15.
Recreation centers: All RECenters are open regular hours on Feb. 15.
Trash and recycling collection: City of Falls Church collections happen on Wednesdays. For county collection customers, regular trash and recycling collection will happen on Feb. 15. If you have private collection, contact your hauler.
Trash and recycling centers: The I-66 Transfer Station and I-95 Landfill Complex disposal centers are open on Feb. 15.
