Herndon Receives Bicycle Friendly Community Award
The League of American Bicyclists recently recognized the Town of Herndon's commitment to promote bicycling in the community.
HERNDON, VA — The Town of Herndon recently joined a list of communities across the country that have been trying to make bicycling a better and more enjoyable experience.
Earlier this month, the League of American Bicyclists presented Herndon with a Bicycle Friendly Community Award. Along with 37 other U.S. communities, Herndon joins the League's list of 482 BFC awardees.
Herndon received the League's Bronze Award, in recognition of the work of town staff and the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee. This work led to the Town Council's adoption of the Bicycle Network Master Plan in 2019, which provides a guiding document to help improve bicycling in the town going forward.
