Herndon Voters Turned Out to Vote in Big Numbers

HERNDON, VA — Town of Herndon voters turned out in big numbers for the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Voting was held at Herndon's 3 precincts: Herndon Elementary (Herndon #1); Herndon Community Center (Herndon #2); and Herndon Middle School (Herndon #3).

Here's the break down of votes cast at each polling place, according to the Fairfax County Government:

Herndon #1 (Herndon Elementary):

A whopping 3,223 votes were cast at Herndon #1--an 84% turnout. Out of 3,836 registered voters, 2,636 people voted in person and 587 absentee ballots were received.

Presidential race:

• Clinton/Kaine: 1,622
• Trump/Pence: 784
• Johnson/Weld: 85
• Stein/Baraka: 20
• McMullin/Johnson: 69

11th District U.S. Congress: (unopposed)

• G.E. "Gerry" Connolly: 1,799

Mayor:

• Lisa Merkel: 1,619
• Jasbinder Singh: 891

Herndon #2 (Herndon Community Center):

Nearly 81% of the 4,116 active registered voters cast votes at the Herndon Community Center. Out of 3,324 total votes, 2,745 were cast in person and 579 by absentee ballot.

• Clinton/Kaine: 1,870
• Trump/Pence: 679
• Johnson/Weld: 90
• Stein/Baraka: 20
• McMullin/Johnson: 50

11th District U.S. Congress: (unopposed)

• G.E. "Gerry" Connolly: 1,921

Mayor:

• Lisa Merkel: 1,786
• Jasbinder Singh: 806

Herndon #3 (Herndon Middle School):

Out of 3,593 active, registered voters, 2,239 voted in person and 516 by absentee ballot. The total votes cast was 2,755--76.76% of registered voters.
