Last Herndon Farmers Market of the Year Thursday, Nov. 13

Vendors will set up shot for the last time this year Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Herndon Farmers Market in front of the Red Caboose in the 700 block of Lynn Street.

The Herndon Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday and reopens May 1, 2015.

Plenty of seasonal items are still available, including greens, pumpkins, squash, bakery items, pasta, popcorn, vegetables, apples, cider, grass-fed beef products and more. Vendors only sell products grown within a 125-mile radius of Fairfax County, ensuring their produce is the freshest possible.

Vendors include:

• Cavanna Pasta - a variety of homemade pastas and sauces
• Chef Eloy’s Salsa - homemade salsas - each one is unique
• Fun Country Kettle Corn - a snack the whole family will enjoy
• Grace’s Pastries - a selection of breads, cookies and pastries
• Hutt’s Produce - fresh fruits and vegetables
• J & W Valley View Farm - fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs
• McCall’s Ferry Farm - grass fed beef products
• McCleaf’s Orchards - fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs
• Mount Olympus - fresh fruits and vegetables
• Santa Cruz Produce - fresh fruits and vegetables
• Sweet Thang Bakery - sweet treats
• Whim Pop - frozen fruit pops

Also featured this Thursday are the Master Gardeners, who will be there to answer questions and help do-it-yourself gardeners and farmers see what type of care their plants need to thrive.

Due to regulations from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, dogs are not allowed within the Farmers Market.
