Location App Helps Police Find Vehicle Stolen From Herndon

With the help of a vehicle location app, Fairfax County Police tracked down a Burke man they say stole a Jeep Wrangler in Herndon.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police arrested a suspect in connection with Friday night vehicle theft in the Town of Herndon, according to the daily crime report.

Around 5:47 p.m., the victim reported that someone had stolen his 2020 Jeep Wrangler earlier in the day in Herndon. Using a vehicle tracking app, the victim was able to tell FCPD the vehicle was located in the 1800 block of Wiehle Ave., in Reston. Officers located the vehicle and the suspect, whom they took into custody.

FCPD charged Anthony Ellison, 34, of Burke, with grand larceny. He is being held without bond.
