Severe Storms Are Coming This Evening
Look out for lightning, hail, flooded roads: National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for north central Fairfax County through 6:15 p.m. this evening.
The warning also covers the northwestern portion of the District of Columbia and southeastern Montgomery County in Maryland.

At 5:40 p.m., the NWS said it detected a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This line of storms was moving east at 25 mph.
The weather service warns that severe thunderstorms produce heavy rain and lightning. Heavy rains flood roads quickly, so don’t drive into areas covered with water.
