Two Herndon Restaurants 'Tip Bombed' Thursday

Two groups of restaurant-goers left $500 and $1,200 tips at Anita's and The Virginia Kitchen, respectively, to spread the holiday cheer.

A waiter at Anita’s in Herndon is the latest target of a group of “tipbombers,” or everyday people who surprise restaurant workers with exorbitant tips to spread holiday cheer.

A group of coworkers, who asked to remain anonymous, picked up a $100 lunch tab at the restaurant Thursday and left a more than $500 “tip bomb.”

“The group would like to remain anonymous but want to share the story to try and get others to do similar this season,” according to the Patch user who submitted the photo above.
