County To Host Open Houses On Fairfax Connector
Fairfax County staff members will gather feedback at open houses on Fairfax Connector bus service in the Franconia-Springfield area.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) is seeking feedback on how people get around in the Franconia-Springfield area on the local transit network. Input from bus riders and residents is key to making the Fairfax Connector service more convenient, accessible and efficient, say county officials.
Fairfax Connector bus routes serving the Franconia/Springfield area include 231, 232, 301, 305, 310, 321, 322, 334, 335, 340, 341, 371, 372, 373, 393, 394, 395, 401, 402 and 494.

On the heels of an online survey that resulted in more than 750 responses, FCDOT has scheduled two open houses this month for Franconia/Springfield residents:
- From 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Key Middle School, 6402 Franconia Road, Springfield. Transit access: Route 310
- From 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Edison High School, 5801 Franconia Road, Alexandria. Transit access: Routes 109, 231/232, 310, 321/322
The open house events will include interactive exercises, run by FCDOT staff, to explore attendees’ individual travel needs, issues and ideas. There also will be an opportunity to give feedback on the future of Fairfax Connector service in the area.

Following these events, FCDOT staff will compile the input received and incorporate the information into planning for service improvements in the Franconia-Springfield area.
FCDOT will come back in the next few months to host more community events, to present and discuss a draft service plan and improvements for the area.
