Edison High Grad Killed in Shooting: Reports

Joe Bose, a student at Hampton University, was shot and killed early Saturday morning in Norfolk, according to several media reports.

Joseph “Joe” Bose, a 2013 graduate of Thomas Edison High School, has died in a fatal shooting in Norfolk, according to The Virginian-Pilot and other media reports in Norfolk.

Hampton University in Norfolk, where he was a student, released a statement about the shooting Saturday.

Bose, 20, died Saturday at about 3:15 a.m. in Norfolk, at 35th Street and Killam Avenue, according to media reports. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Hampton University identified him as Bose, a junior journalism major from Alexandria.

“We extend our deepest sympathy to Joseph’s family and friends for their profound loss,” a statement from the university read Saturday afternoon.

The incident was one of two fatal shootings in Norfolk within hours of each other.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the family members who now suffer the loss of their loved ones,” Norfolk Police Chief Michael Goldsmith said in a statement.
