Fairfax Co. Early Voting Locations Open As Super Tuesday Nears
The county has opened 13 absentee voting locations for the March 3 presidential primary election.
FAIRFAX, VA — Thirteen Fairfax County absentee voting locations are open ahead of Super Tuesday, when Virginia will be one of 14 states and one U.S. territory holding the Democratic presidential primary election. The election will be held on Tuesday, March 3 with polls open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Pkwy, Fairfax, VA) has extended absentee voting hours to Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m from Feb. 22 to 29. Other absentee voting locations opened Saturday, Feb. 22. The deadline for in-person voting is 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29.
The following locations will be open for absentee voting Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The following locations will be open for absentee voting Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Great Falls Library
- Tysons Pimmit Library
Absentee voters must have a valid reason provided by the Virginia Department of Elections. An acceptable form of photo ID is required for in-person absentee voting in addition to in-person Election Day voting. A free voter ID can be obtained at the Office of Elections during business hours and upcoming events.

If you're applying to receive an absentee ballot by mail, the deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Find more information at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/elections/absentee.
Virginia voters are not registered by party, so any registered voter can vote in the Democratic presidential primary. The Republican Party of Virginia will not hold a presidential primary and will instead choose delegates for the national convention.
