Fairfax County Government Buildings Closing Due To Coronavirus
County government continues to operate, but buildings will be closed to the public near the end of the week.

FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax County government will close all facilities to the public, effective 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27 as a strategy to limit the spread of the new coronavirus, or COVID-19. The changes continue until further notice. Fairfax County government remains open with services online, by phone or by mail.
Some services will be available in-person at the discretion of county agencies. Nonprofits located in county facilities will receive guidance on operations from their partner agencies.
County buildings are open for Board of Supervisors, board, commission and authorities meetings required by state law. Employees can continue to access these buildings if their job functions cannot allow working remotely.

Fairfax County has put together a list of services accessible online during the facility closures. A few of these functions include real estate and car tax payments, building permit fee payments, zoning permit applications, building permit applications and reporting crimes.
May local elections in the towns of Vienna and Clifton are set to continue. The Fairfax County Office of Elections is required to be open regular hours for voter registration, absentee applications sent by mail and ballot processing. In-person absentee voting is available curbside only at the Fairfax County Government Center. Voters should call 703-222-0776 upon arriving for materials to be brought out. As of Tuesday, the Fairfax Health District reported 46 cases of COVID-19 and one death. The health district includes Fairfax County, Fairfax City and Falls Church City.
