Meet Orange Juice! Also known as Juice, or OJ. He is, hands down, the smartest cat in the shelter right now. He is SO intelligent, confident, and full of personality, and he's going to be an awesome companion for someone who can keep up with his antics! He likes to act independent but secretly he's a clingy boy who wants to be included in everything you're doing. He needs an adopter who won't mind that he can be mouthy at times - it's his way of trying to get attention - and he needs someone who can help teach him that's not ok and redirect him to better uses of his time. Juice is really just a big kitten and has tons of energy, and he needs outlets for both his energy and his intelligence! Lots of playtime and lots of puzzle toys and lots of interaction with his person/people will help Juice thrive, and give him appropriate outlets for his energy and smarts.
Orange Juice is a VERY chatty cat who trills a lot, especially when you say his name. He could be really great with older kids (like middle school and up probably) because that just means more people to give him attention and play with him, but he can be mouthy so that's something to consider. He would probably do well with other cats and probably even dogs, with a slow and proper introduction, and as long as other pets in the home can handle his energy and in-your-face play style. We got a harness on him the other day and he didn't hate it, and even walked around to see what was in the wide open hallway! So, that could be fun.
Are you looking for a BIG personality in a cat-shaped creature? Come meet OJ anytime during our open hours! He's in a staff office right now so he can have more space and more constant human interaction, so just ask for him at the front counter!
If you're interested in this witty cat, visit the shelter and learn more about the adoption process here. The shelter has a Howloween Adoption Event coming up on Oct. 29-31. Anyone who wears a costume gets half-off the adoption fee on these days.
