Lee High School Student Selected as Virginia High School Girls Rugby All-Star

Six Fort Hunt Gators were selected for Rugby Virginia's first ever High School Varsity Girls All-Star team.

Carol Borkowski of Lee High School was one of six Fort Hunt Gators who were selected for the first Rugby Virginia's high school varsity girls all-star team.

The other players include, Erin Conway (West Potomac High School), Rachel Dacey (West Potomac High School), Kylee Edwards (Mount Vernon High School), Sabrina Evans (Mount Vernon High School) and Colleen Grady (West Potomac High School).

These players recently joined 14 other players across the state of Virginia to participate in the Challenge Cup Regional  All-Star Tournament held June 15-16 in Pittsburgh.

The Virginia All-Stars rugby team played against teams representing multiple states, including Minnesota, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

Announcements for invitations to national-level camps are expected in a few months. The Fort Hunt Gators, led by Andy Vonada, will find out if they will join the Fort Hunt Warriors boys high school rugby team in having a player selected for national level training and play.
